Hello, we are Kristin and Kyle! Thank you for taking time to hear our story and learn more about us as prospective parents.

We did not meet in the traditional sense. No, we did not meet online. We met at our local game store! We are both avid fans of tabletop roleplaying - you probably have heard of Dungeons & Dragons before. Like the characters we created, we began an adventure together and grew to trust and cherish each other. We learned about each other and our families. Over time, Kyle decided to roll the dice and asked Kristin to marry him. She said yes and they were married under a grove of oak trees and Spanish moss in the winter of 2019.

Like most families, we had hoped to welcome a child. Kristin has known for many years that she could not have biological children. We knew adoption was the avenue for us. We know the right match is out there, and we are so excited to discover the child we will welcome into our family. We cannot wait to meet them and have them join this adventuring duo!

Financial Support

Expectant mothers who choose to make an adoption plan may qualify for some level of financial assistance during their pregnancy. However, each person's situation and specific needs are different. Your adoption social worker can help you determine what level of assistance you qualify for and deserve. Many expectant mothers qualify for financial assistance to cover basic pregnancy and living expenses, including but not limited to - transportation reimbursement, utility assistance for phone, water, and electricity/gas, maternity clothing and supplements, etc.

FAQ’s about placing a baby for Adoption

I'm considering giving my baby up for adoption. How much does that cost?

It won't cost you anything. If you choose to place your baby for adoption, all of your medical and legal fees will be covered and you may be eligible for financial assistance with other pregnancy-related expenses.

I'm experiencing an unplanned pregnancy and don't know who the birth father is. Can I still place my baby for adoption?

Yes. Even if you don’t know the identity of the birth father, you can still choose to make an adoption plan. However, every adoption situation is different. The adoption social worker you’re assigned to will get to know you and your story first, and then guide you through the process accordingly.

When is the right time to talk with an adoption professional?

You can make an adoption plan at any point in your pregnancy, even after the baby has been born. But, it's important to start the process as early in your pregnancy as possible. Connecting with those resources will allow you to gain access to important medical services, including prenatal care, to help ensure a healthy pregnancy.

When I create an adoption plan, will I get to choose who is in the room with me during delivery?

One aspect of your adoption plan is the "Hospital Plan" an outline of how you'd like your hospital stay and delivery to go. You can craft this on your own or with the help of your adoption social worker. But everything is up to you. You’ll be able to choose who comes to the hospital with you, who is in the room with you during delivery, and how much time you’d like to spend with the baby before signing the final papers.

How much contact will I have with the adoptive family after I place my baby with them?

As part of your adoption plan, you'll determine whether or not you’d like to have an open or closed adoption or something in between. Open adoptions may include phone calls, messaging (via social media, email, or text), and/or periodic visits each year. Closed adoptions may include no contact at all or annual updates provided to the birth parent(s) by the adoptive family. Each post-adoption relationship is different and can vary based on what an expectant mother chooses in her adoption plan.

Not Always Sunshine and Rainbows

10/01/2022

This past week Florida had the massive Hurricane Ian come through. I'm not going to lie big storms are scary. It was pretty close to us but thankfully our home and family are safe. Life always will have dangerous moments but if you are prepared and stick together you can make it through. We boarded up the home for safety. Spent time doing puzzles, games, and playing with the dogs. Even though we did lose power, we didn't lose faith that we would be okay. Sending love to everyone affected by Hurricane Ian

Dinners with Grandma

09/24/2022

I am so very fortunate to have one grandparent still alive. Better yet she lives just down the street. For the last year since she moved here I have taken her to dinner every week to our favorite restaurant Olive Garden. Sometimes we sneak in an afternoon with the pups and movies.  She is already a great-grandmother but is oh so excited for us to find our little one.

Preparation is Key

09/12/2022

After our summer adventures we have started preparing to welcome home a baby to be (we don't know when but we are ready!) Crib ✅ bottles ✅ cloth diapers ✅ car seat and stroller ✅ baby books ✅ assorted baby clothes for a boy or girl ✅ a handmade blanket knitted by great grandma ✅. We've also planned and prepared a trip to Norway next summer; opting for a family suite in case this trip for two becomes a trip for three 💕

Summer time in Georgia!

07/12/2022

We made it back to Georgia to enjoy a nice summer get away in the mountains. Long drive but the pups instantly recognized the cabin we rented before when we arrived last night. Today, we took Piper, Kylie, and Cleo out with us in the river to do some lazy river tubing. They had so much fun splashing in the water and trying out their life vests! We also visited the local orchard to sample some tasty ciders and followed it up with lunch in the quaint little mountain town. This is our second time here and already quickly becoming a tradition.

Loving Disney

06/29/2022

Spending the last week of June visiting Disney World with my best friend. We love taking in the familiar sights and nostalgia around us. Living close to Orlando makes it easy to visit the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom. I also really enjoy hunting for new little nuances and helping spread the magic. Every trip I keep an eye out for a child or two to give a Disney Pin (always asking the parent if it's okay first). I cannot wait to share the love, magic, and joy that Disney brings our family.

May Day - Monarch Waystation Day

05/01/2022

It's official! We have met all the requirements to be an official Monarch Butterfly Waystation. We have a steady stream of butterflies, caterpillars, and chrysalises! We cannot wait for our certification to arrive and our sign. It'll be so much fun watching butterflies come to our home and grow with our child one day.

Birthday in Disney

Over the Easter Holiday my husband and I took a trip to visit our favorite place... Disney World. We love going to see what's new, trying different kinds of foods, and exploring the parks. Sometimes we enjoy our favorite places like Trader Sams. This is our FAVORITE place to watch the fireworks over the Magic Kingdom! We keep daydreaming about our first trip with a little one.

Monarch Butterflies

04/06/2022

We live in a pretty new neighborhood and with all of the construction some of the local fauna has disappeared. I love nature and have been learning how to garden. So my pups have been helping me landscape our yard and turn it into a Monarch Butterfly Waystation. We have tons of monarch caterpillars now and boy can they eat!!! They chomp their way through milkweed like crazy. Every day after work the dogs and I go out into the garden and move the caterpillars to different milkweed plants so that they all get enough food. It's been a fun project watching the caterpillars grow, turn into butterflies, seeing hummingbirds coming, and honey bees buzzing about.

Living Rocks

04/11/2022

During the pandemic, lots of folks were trying new things. From air fryers, to sour dough, to self improvement. I started trying to learn to grow succulents. One particular plant I fell in love with is actually pretty bizarre looking. It is called a living rock or lithops. They are these amazing little plants that grow in the deserts of Africa.  They look like tiny pebbles poking out of the ground. When they are ready to make a new plant the old one has to give up its nutrients to grow the new one. Sometimes if you're really lucky you get TWO from one plant. It's amazing how plants go through such fascinating life cycles. I cannot wait to share the joys I have discovered from gardening with my child one day.

Getting Ready For Work

03/03/2022

Every morning we have the same routine. I get up and take the pups outside. Then it is back in to get ready for work. After the pups get their breakfast and it's time for mine. I open a book to enjoy some quiet reading while I eat a bowl of my favorite cereal, cheerios. However, it's almost never quiet. As soon as Cleo and Piper finish their kibble they are running and playing. Soon after I have to make room for both of them on my lap while I finish. They love quiet time with mom. Kyle is still asleep as he works evenings but when I go to leave they hurry off to join him back in bed. Sometimes it's the simple things that always put a smile on your face. Just one more week until spring break for this teacher.

Valentine’s Day

02/20/2022

For most of February Kyle has been traveling for work. He got a promotion and had to do some extra training. So it's just been me and the pups manning the home front. I knew for Valentine's Day we'd be apart but he still managed to surprise me with flowers. I love how sweet he is, always spoils me. I know our child is gonna be spoiled too.

We ended 2021 with an amazing trip to Georgia and got to spend the holidays with our families. As we turn the page to a new year and a new chapter, we are planning out some fun. We enjoyed the mountains of Georgia so much we have already booked a return trip for the summer! We cannot wait to hike more and go tubing in the river! We also are planning our first Disney Trip of the year too! We will be visiting Disney World in April. We love going to Disney and it has been a year since our last trip, we can hardly wait to get there. We don't know what is in store for us for 2022 but we plan to make the most of it.

Painting Fun

10/13/2022

Nothing is more precious to me than spending time with family. I love spending time with my sisters and mom. We can spend hours chattering about nothing and everything. Recently we did a girls day out and took a painting class together. Well three of us did one of my sisters is a very talented artist/graphic designer so she painted a portrait of one of my dogs for me. We all struggled and then overcame as the rest of us are pretty new to painting. We had so much fun and our teacher was sweet as can be. We have already picked our next meeting painting and can't wait to go again.
